The fifth edition of Dubai Design Week kicks starts next week from November 12th to 16th. The Exhibitions hosts hundreds of events and covers design from different fields including interior designing, architecture, furniture, and product. Events to look forward in this years of Dubai Design Week are:-
Abwab translates as ‘doors’ in Arabic and is an annually remodeled exhibition dedicated to commissioning work from across the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia with a purpose to promote design talent and stimulate information exchange, uniquely experienced at Dubai Design Week.
2)Global Grad Show (Exhibition)
Global Grad Show provides first-hand access to the next generation of innovators creating solutions for a better world. It is the world’s most diverse gathering of university graduates and professors in the fields of science, design, and technology, working on projects addressing social and environmental issues.
This year’s program will include a conference about social impact education and an initiative supporting graduates to develop social startups.
3)Downtown Design (Exhibition)
The key event of Dubai Design Week, Downtown Design is the Middle East’s leading fair for an original design.
Advocating for and presenting a high-quality design to industry professionals and design lovers, year-on-year the fair delivers a dynamic showcase, exhibiting the latest collections by leading international and regional brands alongside specially commissioned experiential projects and a thought-provoking line-up of talks and workshops.
4)Audi Innovation Hub (Installation)
The concept at the root of the project is Audi’s first full-electric car the all-new Audi e-Tron, with unparalleled driving comfort that considers the environment.
Experts at the forefront of design, from global leaders to local influencers, come together for talks in knowledge-exchange programs throughout Dubai Design Week.
An immersive design installation that invites audiences to explore the interplay of shadow and light cast through a series of colourful architectural grids, drawing inspiration from the Mashrabiya.
